Day 2: Cheese & Bean Enchilada Verde
Howdy Frozen Food Fiends,
Today started out just like any other. I woke up, wondered what the Ying Yang Twinz are up to in 2017, and decided tonight was the night I microwave beans for dinner!
I know what you're thinking: "Hey Coll, that looks a little bit like vomit." And well, you're not wrong. I'm going to chalk it up to user error since this was basically brain surgery but I somehow turned the corn seasoning into a paste. Honestly, that part was pretty tasty. The Salsa itself was a bit tangy for my liking and well, the beans tasted like beans. Despite the 73 (number slightly exaggerated) different organic spices and peppers touted on the ingredients list it didn't have much of a kick. Also, i'm just now realizing there was supposed to be cheese in this and i'm calling bullshit.
I am giving Cheese & Bean Enchilada Verde 2 out of 5 stars. It was edible, although I certainly didn't enjoy it. I added an extra 0.5 points because I don't have a microwave manufactured by Mercedes Benz and i'm sure there was a fair amount of user error involved. I definitely would not buy this again.

For this meal we head South of the Border with Cheese & Bean Enchilada Verde. Green salsa has really been having a moment so I thought "how on trend" and committed. Almost immediately after the contentment of how hip I was wore off the instruction induced panic set in.
Yep, you read that right. The last prep step says "3.5 minutes on 50% power". Half power? Am I some sort of GD wizard? There was only one way to solve this - calling my mom. The conclusion we came to from our dialogue can be summed up in a single Becky quote, "If you're eating Lean Cuisines for dinner there's a pretty good chance you have a cheap microwave." Alas, there was no way to create "half power". (Honestly, there might have been but i'm sure that involved looking something up in a manual and come on, it's a $85 microwave not a car, that thing is in a dump somewhere).
After the first self explanatory step, the salsa was still frozen which grossed me out a little bit. I put it back in for a time adjusted 3 minutes and hoped for the best. It did smell pretty promising.
